The reason for this is the key of the piece, which is something special for baroque lute... The main key of this piece is F sharp minor and baroque lutes can be tuned particularly purely in this key. This allows the instrument to vibrate better and creates more resonance. The lutenists in France in the 17th century left many compositions in this key, although they are relatively difficult to play on the baroque lute.
